#ASPIRASI COMMUNITY COOPERATION VITAL TO STRENGTHEN DISASTER PREPAREDNESS, SAYS NGEMAH REP KANOWIT (Nov 7): Cooperation between government agencies and local communities is crucial in minimising the impact of disasters, said Ngemah assemblyman Anyi Jana. He emphasised that local communities play an essential role as first responders during the critical phase of any disaster. “In this regard, I urge the Civil Defence Force (APM) to formulate plans to implement the Community-Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM) programme in the Kanowit district, specifically for community leaders and village chiefs in 2026. “I also propose that the Welfare Department (JKM) conduct the MyIBJKM (My Info Bencana JKM) registration session in Kanowit this year to strengthen preparedness ahead of the Northeast Monsoon (MTL),” he said when closing the Kanowit District Flood Disaster Management Tabletop Exercise (TTX) and Field Training Exercise (FTX) here on Wednesday.
