#ASPIRASI MALAYSIA TO REQUIRE MPS TO JOIN CIVIL DEFENCE FORCE FROM 2026, SAYS DPM ZAHID KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 16 — Malaysian lawmakers will be required to join the Civil Defence Force (APM) in their constituencies from next year, Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said today. According to Utusan Malaysia, he said MPs must also set aside part of their constituency funds to buy uniforms for APM personnel. “APM is among the nation’s second line of defence after the Armed Forces and police,” Ahmad Zahid told reporters after attending a Civil Defence Students’ Corps (Kor Sispa) commissioning ceremony in Shah Alam. The event, officiated by Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, saw 918 cadets from universities and tea Ahmad Zahid said student participation in uniformed units such as APM helps build discipline and resilience. He added that the Prime Minister’s Department is considering allowances for cadets.
